The dead links report is generated for you in 2 steps. First, you'll need to run the command line application from your admin directory:
./nph-hyperseek.cgi -validate #### (where "###" is a batch size)
Running that command will check your database, ### links at a time, to ensure that the URL for the links is valid, and responding. As the report runs, it will log it's progress to a file.
Opening the "Dead links report" link from the main admin center will read the log file generated in the step above, and report to you as follows ...
You may edit or delete any link found by the system to be 'dead'
