Hyperseek Category Settings

Let's walk though these settings one by one.

·Emulate Static HTML URLs
oIf you want Google and the other big search engines to index your site, you really need to have this turned on. For this feature to work you need to have "Path Info" support (Apache) on your server. Contact your Hosting provider for help with this. If you turn this feature on and get 404 errors on your categories, you don't have Path Info support.
You can also run in to an issue with non-alphanumeric characters.
·Treat category lookups as search terms
oNormally when a user clicks on a category, they see the listings in the category. When this feature is turned on, instead of seeing listings assigned to the category, your software will display the search results searching the category name as a keyword.
·For smaller categories use combined results.
oThis will pull up listings from subcategories and display them in higher level categories when you don't have a full set of listings per page.
So for example, if your category had 10 listings in it, but you set the preference to display 15 listings per page, Then your software would pull all the listings from the subcategory to fill out your directory.
·Would you like subcategory templates to match your category templates?
oWhen you select "No" all pages (with exception of the accounts center) point to the default page, unless you have created a specific page for them.
oWhen you select "Yes" all pages (with exception of the accounts center) point to the default page. If you make a template for a category, all the subcategories below it, will use that same template, rather then the default template.
·How should the categories be sorted
oThis is for the front page of your site. You can either have the categories displayed in Alphabetical order, or a Manual Sort Order that you define in the category creation area.
·How would you like the category listings sorted.
oIf you are running a PPC Search Engine, you need to select Score. If not, please refer to the documentation.

Please click Preferences again. This time we will choose "Hyperseek Searching Options".
