Importing listings from your own data sources into Hyperseek is very easy, using our import utility.
You may import listings either from the browser, or via the command line.
From the browser, this is a 3 step process.
In the first step, you tell Hyperseek where the file is on your server to import from (or, alternatively upload the file through the form provided). Make sure that the file you're importing into Hyperseek is plain ascii, delimited by Pipes, Commas and Quotes or Tabs. Most databases, and even excel can export data into one of these formats for you.
Once Hyperseek has, and knows about your import file from the first step, it will parse through it, and show you a sample record of the data, broken down into separate fields. Next to each field is a drop down box, indicating the available fields in the Hyperseek database. For each data field in your import file, assign it to the proper Hyperseek database field. When you're finished, press the "Continue" button. Hyperseek will, at this time, parse your entire import file based on the mappings you just defined.
Once the parsing is complete, Hyperseek will report to you the number of listings ready for final import. You'll be presented with a summary of the import, a few sample records for verification, and implementation instructions. You may click the "Finish" button to have the system complete the import right now, or you may complete the process from the command line, which is recommended for larger datasets (over 1,000 records)
