Search Boxes

Search boxes are the easiest way for your affiliates to integrate your search engine into their website. Essentially, they just need to copy and paste a bit of HTML onto their pages, which will draw a search form that you design (sample below). When their visitors come to their website and search through that search box, the affiliate will be given credit for all searches and clicks generated by the visitor. Simple and effective.

You can design as many different search boxes that you like, so long as they contain the following <form> fields:

1. A text input named "Terms"
2. A hidden field named "affiliate" with the value equal to their affiliate ID.

You can design them and present them to your affiliates in separate documentation, or you can use the Internal Template system to design any number of "SEARCHBOXCODE#" (where the # is a number, starting with "01 ... 02 ... 03, etc) to make the template names unique) examples for them to choose from within their account manager. See the affiliate links designer page for more information on how to create these.

The search boxes work by setting a cookie in the searchers browser bearing the affiliates id. This ensures that on any subsequent searches and/or clicks, the affiliate that referred the visitor is remembered by the system, allowing them continuous revenues from the activity of the searcher.
