The trending report breaks down your clicks for a given time period (we recommend running this only for specific single dates, not full date ranges) to help you in finding trends that may indicate fraudulent click activity that may slip past the built in fraud filters.

This report comes in 2 basic varieties.

The first is a simple breakdown report of either Visitors IP Address, Browser/User Agent, or Referring URL. The basic breakdown will give you simple counts on the number of clicks grouped within certain categories. You'll be able to pick out strange browser agents to add to your screening lists (ie: a web spider, or some automated browser program that is generating false clicks). Something else to look for is referring pages that generate big click numbers that appear to be normal. This is common with a bot, where you'll have differing IP numbers, agents, keywords and bid amounts, but a common referring page and affiliate. Using this information, you may spot something else to add into your screening list, or an affiliate that needs to be removed.

The second type of report is the Interval report, which will look at each click, and will report to you the time between them, in order. Using this report, you can monitor the clicks of an affiliate as they happen, to spot trends such as a different word being clicked on every 22 seconds, or something equally odd. This is a very powerful and useful report. Note that from within this report, you may edit the individual clicks to change their status from valid to fraudulent, thus crediting back the PPC fee to the advertiser.
